Birthday Nails ft Trust Fund Beauty Do You Know Who My Father Is and Killer Heels

Hello lovelies!

Today I have a special post for you, it's my birthday so I did some cute birthday nails!

One of my favourite colours to wear on my nails is pink and one of my favourite pink polishes is Trust Fund Beauty Do You Know Who My Father is from their Heiress collection. It's a perfect pink creme that applies like a dream!

And since it's my birthday, I needed to have some glitter in there too so I used Trust Fund Beauty Killer Heels from their Out of This World Rich collection.

How adorable right? So feminine and classic. I used the glitter placement method to do the glitter polka dots.

But you all know, I can't leave a mani without adding some hand painted nail art so...

Ta da!! Perfect little cupcake, bow, heart and diamond! Gahhhhh so cute!!

I'll be spending my day stuffing my face with lots of food and cake. It's the one day of the year where you can have your cake and definitely eat it too! If anyone else is celebrating today too, happy birthday! Enjoy every moment! xoxo!

Piggy Paint Review

Happy Weekend, lovelies!

Hope you all are enjoying the weekend and taking some time out to relax and smell the roses. Today I have some cute polishes to show you by Piggy Paint.

I recently learned about Piggy Paint when researching non-toxic polish brands. Piggy Paint was created by Melanie Hurley, a mom of 2 young girls who like to have their nails painted. Melanie developed these products as a way to have non-toxic, environmentally friendly polishes that wouldn't contain any harmful chemicals. Piggy Paint is water-based and does not contain formaldehyde, toluene, or phthalate which are sometimes found in nail polish. These are the ones I received to review (from left to right): Sea-quin, Fairy Fabulous, PINKie Promise, and Muddles the Pig.

Piggy Paint also makes a base and top coat:

And a special polish remover which is free of acetone and is low odor. 

The remover has added vitamin e and aloe vera. I tried out the remover on regular polish and it works just as well on regular (non-gel) polish. 

When testing the products, I used their recommended base and top coats. The top coat helps smooth out the polish. 

The first colour I'll show you is Sea-quin, a light turquoise blue. It applied like a dream and dried fairly quickly. Sea-quin was opaque and smooth in 1 easy coat. This was my favourite of the bunch.

The next polish is Fairy Fabulous, a lilac purple with slightly pink undertones. This was also super easy to apply and was opaque in 1 coat. I used 2 with top coat in the swatch. I love how girly this purple is! 

PINKie Promise is a hot pink creme which took 2 coats for complete opacity. It was a little bit streaky when applying like other fluorescent polishes are but if you wait patiently when applying each layer to dry completely, it will be fine. The top coat also helps smooth it all out.

The last one up is Muddles the Pig, a light pink creme that was similar to PINKie Promise in that it took 2 coats for streak free opacity. I love this particular shade of pink.

Piggy Paint's website recommends using a hair dryer to dry and set the polish. Since they are water based, the air from the hair dryer will help evaporate the water faster so the polish will have a hard finish. I would recommend doing this between applying thin layers of polish. If the layers are too thick, the air may start to push and distort the smoothness of the polish. I would also recommend using a regular polish top coat if you want to protect the design longer. The polishes overall, apply easily and do not have a strong odor. I highly recommend this product for younger children and for people with sensitivities to scents.

inm Fall Collection Review

So the summer is winding down and we are getting ready for fall so out with the old and in with the new! I have a brand new collection by International Nail Manufacturers (inm). This classic collection has some colours that are absolute necessities in any polish lovers' collection. Visit their website www.inmnails.com

Here we have (from left to right): Exposed, Granite, Red Rover, Misty Blue, Glitz, and Zinnia.

I first paired Exposed and Red Rover. Exposed is a gorgeous nude polish. Red Rover is a darker fire engine red. 

Here they are together. Both are pictured with 2 thin coats and no top coat. Such creamy and easy application.

Next are Misty Blue, a vibrant royal blue and Granite, a light stone gray.

Here they are together with 2 coats used for the solid nails.

Misty Blue is a creme polish which applies like a dream.

I did a pretty water marble with Granite.

The last 2 colours are Zinnia, a lavender creme with a hint of pink and Glitz, a fun glitter topper with pink, silver, and purple glitter.

I paired the 2 polishes here because the light lavender matches the glitters in the polish.

This is Zinnia on its own. Such a pretty and warm light violet.

Born Pretty Store stamping plate

Today I wanted to share some info on a beauty supply website which offers everything you need to primp up your hair, nails, face, whatever!

I received some items to review, a couple of image stamping plates and a wheel of neon studs.

They have many different stamping plates to choose from with lots of cute and fun designs. They range in price from $0.99 to $38.06 for very large plates. 

The ones I have to review are plate D18 and QA91.

D18 has images like abstract shapes, hot peppers, and puzzle pieces.

The design I did with this plate was the abstract shapes and I tried it using the advanced stamping technique.

1. Clean stamping plate so that there is no residual polish on it if you've used it before

2. Apply black polish over entire image

3. Scrap off excess polish with stamp scraper and press rubber stamper down on image

4. Fill in shapes with coloured polishes and let dry

5. Apply a clear top coat over the entire image with coloured in spaces. Let dry completely. Remove the dried decal with tweezers by carefully pushing down the stamper. The image should come off easily if it is dry.

6. Apply a top cop over your painted nail

7. Apply the decal to your nail

8. Carefully press down the excess polish to remove it and shape it to your nail

9. Apply a top coat over your nail. Done!

I also added a few of the neon blue star studs from the Born Pretty Store. So bright and funky! Love it!

For the second stamping plate, QA91, I used with the regular stamping technique.
